As you probably know, we like to eat well.
Here are some of our favorite restaurants and dishes in Paris and Versailles.

One of our favorite restaurants in Paris, Le Petit Pascal is a casual, traditional bistro run by two awesome women. The portions are substantial, the food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the wine keeps flowing. The menu is in French, but there are no bad choices there, and the owners will help you navigate. Consider ordering the lentils with Morteau sausage. Open Monday-Friday for lunch and dinner.

Royal Madeleine (Chez monsieur)

Chic bistro specializing in French classics. The blanquette de veau is exceptional and generously portioned (though perhaps a bit heavy for summer). The resident cat, Georges, often makes an appearance towards the end of the night.

Ladurée

A perfect stop for brunch, lunch, or afternoon dessert and tea. For lunch, the "Vol au vent de volaille" is exceptional; the Ladurée and smoked salmon club sandwiches are delicious and big enough to share (especially if you plan to have dessert). Try a Saint-Honoré, a religieuse (pistachio are C's favorite), or a coupe glacée (ice cream and so much more). Multiple locations, including in the Château de Versailles, but we prefer rue Royale.

Classic Parisian brasserie, with a focus on wines from the Loire valley. We recommend the quenelles de brochet, a specialty from A's region. Open everyday.

Royal VendÔme

Our go-to lunch spot, steps from Place Vendôme. Stop by for a steak au poivre, charcuterie plate, or warm goat cheese salad.

This one-star restaurant focuses on wine from the Burgundy region. The dining room is located on the ground floor of an art deco hôtel particulier on the Left Bank, near the Musée d'Orsay. On our recent visit, we tried the soufflé of Comté and Morteau sausage, a vol au vent with ris de veau and crayfish, and a black sesame vacherin for dessert. All exceptional.
